I speak to women all the time who are wanting to cut back on their drinking.  Many of them stay in this space of wanting to cut back – for months, sometimes years.  They are waiting to cut back.  Waiting for the right time to cut back.  Waiting for the right time is a never-ending game.  There will never be one.  The perfect time was months ago.  The next perfect time is now.

But your brain will tell you all the reasons why not to.  And they all seem valid.  What will it take to finally call BS on these excuses and cut back?  A diagnosis? Ruined relationships? Another embarrassing night?

Waiting for the right time is a never-ending game.

If you are waiting for it to get easier, you will be waiting an eternity.  Urges grow stronger, excuses seem more real, and the depression and anxiety grow.  Buzz kill: It doesn’t get any easier.  Are you going to continue to wait?  Or start?  The choice is always yours.
